Hello

I was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire before moving to Surrey, where I was educated at the renowned

St. Catherines school in Bramley.

 

From there, I went on to live in Dubai, starting my professional training at the Academy of Freelance Makeup-artists (AoFM) and then, once back in the UK continued my training at their Soho studio in London.

 

 I continued to professionally qualify through an extensive, two-year course through Brushstroke Makeup Academy, based at Longcross Studios in Cherstey, London.

Upon graduating in 2022, I established my own hair, make-up and special effects business “Mylene Alexandra” and an associated prosthetics company “MAProsthetics”.

​

I have a real passion for the creative arts, especially for the TV and film industry, although I also enjoy media assignments for news journals and the glossy magazines, with the opportunity to meet lots of new and exciting people and being able to provide them and their editors or producers with exactly what they desire.

 

From the start of my professional training, I have found a special ability and flare for Special Effects (SFX). I love to shock and WOW with the intricacy and detail of my make-up, prosthetics and props, which have been used in the creation of several full-length and short films.

I am a versatile MUA, able to work alone, in small teams or with a full crew.  I happily work in a studio, on set or in exterior locations, knowing the demands that come with each environment and project.  My passion and commitment is to help artists and directors realise their vision through excellence in makeup artistry.
